Kid’s Ministry: September

I want to begin by expressing my deepest gratitude for everything you have poured into this ministry over the past years. Thank you for your incredible dedication, and I am so excited to partner with you again for this upcoming ministry year!

Please remember: you are so much more than “babysitters.” Every Sunday, you are investing in eternal lives, growing authentic relationships, and nurturing the faith of our children. You are creating a space where they are truly seen, known, and loved.

In Matthew 19:14, Jesus says, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Jesus deeply valued children’s ministry. He didn’t see children as a distraction or secondary to His work; instead, He placed them at the very center of God’s Kingdom. When you welcome, teach, and love these kids, you are doing exactly what Jesus did. Your service is of immense value, and it is a beautiful reflection of His heart.

Curriculum & Upcoming Lessons

Each month I will be sharing with you the last few lessons and the upcoming ones.  My hope is that this helps give you a frame of reference for what the kids have been learning since the last time you were in the classroom!  After 2 years of walking through the Old Testament, we are now stepping into the New Testament!  Here is our first unit, that we will spend the first 4 weeks going through:

Unit 19: Jesus Came to Earth

  • Description: At last – Jesus – the promised Messiah, had arrived as a baby.  As Jesus grew, He found favor with God and people.  The incarnation – the act of God taking on flesh – set the stage for Jesus, the God-man, to be the all-sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the world.
  • Big Picture Question: Who is Jesus? Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, who came to earth to save us.
  • Key Passage: “For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
  • Lessons at a Glance:
    • September 13: Jesus Was Born – Matthew 1: Luke 1-2
    • September 20: Jesus Was Dedicated – Luke 2
    • September 27: Wise Men Visited Jesus – Matthew 2
    • October 4: Jesus at the Temple – Luke 2

You will get the individual lesson for your week, emailed to you the Monday before you serve! If you need anything else, please feel free to reach out!

Make it Personal

While going through the lessons is wonderful, intentional conversations can be even more impactful. Helping kids feel seen, known, and loved often starts with simple things—learning their names, asking about their interests, and finding shared connections.

God placed you in these rooms for a reason: not just to provide childcare, but because you have a purpose here. I am planning to create some materials, games, and support resources for our small groups to help spark these deeper conversations and connections. If you ever want ideas on how to cultivate these moments, please let me know—I would love to talk with you!

Volunteer Spotlight

At Corinth, we know that the heart of our Kid’s Ministry doesn’t beat because of the staff or any one person —it beats because of you. While we coordinate behind the scenes, it is our incredible volunteers who are on the ground every Sunday making this ministry such an impactful, loving, and life-changing place for our kids. Because we are so deeply grateful for your dedication, we are starting a monthly Volunteer Spotlight! Each month, we want to celebrate one of our amazing team members, share their story, and say a big “thank you” for the unique ways they serve our church family.

Read more below about our first Volunteer Spotlight: Lisa Nagel!

As we step into this new ministry year, please know that I am praying for each of you. I pray that God fills you with joy, patience, and energy as you serve, and that you experience His love in a fresh way through the kids you lead.

Thank you again for your incredible partnership. I am so honored and excited to serve alongside you!
