As I think of what it means to walk with families in this season of chaotic, busy, and incredibly rewarding time of parenting, this verse comes to mind:

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” — Deuteronomy 6:6–7
God has uniquely positioned you as the primary spiritual influence in your child’s life, and even the smallest everyday moments at home can become powerful opportunities to share His love.
Yet we know that parents cannot and shouldn’t walk this journey alone. The church, your church wants to walk with you, and in community, help guide your child(ren) in their faith journey.
In nursery, this looks like short videos with puppets, cartoon drawings, coloring, simple activities, and sometimes the most important part – playing with your kids. All of this helps teach them the simple truths of Jesus, and helps the kids to be seen and known.
In Sunday School, this can look like worship songs that are fun and engaging, a lesson brought by a Large Group Teacher that is talking directly to kids, at an age-appropriate level, and small group time with volunteers who are discussing the lesson, doing activities, crafts, and games to help discuss the lesson in engaging ways.
Thank you for allowing me, and more importantly, our amazing volunteers, to get to know your kids and show them the love of Jesus!

Reminders & Logistics
- Drop-off & Check-in: Please make sure to check in your children before the service begins.
- Nursery Age: Drop-off begins at 9:50 AM. To allow our volunteers time to connect with one another in the lobby and settle into their classrooms, we ask that you do not drop off children before 9:50 AM. Please note that children may only be dropped off once an adult volunteer is present in the room.
- Sunday School Age (K–5th Grade): Elementary children will join you in the main service starting at 10:00 AM. Partway through the service, kids and volunteers will be dismissed to “The Zone.” Volunteers will walk with the children to ensure everyone arrives safely in their correct classrooms.
- Pick-up for Nursery & Sunday School: Please make sure to have your sticker with the code for pick-up! If you are picking up from both the zone and nursery or even two different rooms in the same area, just let the volunteer know that you still need the code after you show it to them.
- Additional information for Sunday School pick-up: At the end of the service, please head to The Zone to pick up your children from their small group classrooms. Classrooms are in a new location this year, so please look for the signs on the doors along the right side of the hallway. I will also be available for the first few weeks to help guide you to the right spot!
What We’re Learning This Month
Here is where you will find an overview of the current curriculum series so that you, the parents, can stay connected to what kids are learning on Sundays. Do you ever get in the car on the drive home and ask them what they learned and they say “um Jesus”?!
Well, that’s good, they got the golden Sunday School answer. But if we are to partner with you, we want to equip you to help bring that engagement home after Sunday School or Nursery ends… and into your weekly rhythms at home.
We are starting this fall with the New Testament! We have spent the last two years going through the Old Testament and now it’s time to dive into Jesus’s time on earth! Our first unit is called, “Jesus Came to Earth” and we will spend the next four weeks going through the following lessons. Here is an overview:
Unit 19: Jesus Came to Earth
- Description: At last – Jesus – the promised Messiah, had arrived as a baby. As Jesus grew, He found favor with God and people. The incarnation – the act of God taking on flesh – set the stage for Jesus, the God-man, to be the all-sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the world.
- Big Picture Question: Who is Jesus? Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, who came to earth to save us.
- Key Passage: “For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
- Lessons at a Glance:
- September 13: Jesus Was Born – Matthew 1: Luke 1-2
- September 20: Jesus Was Dedicated – Luke 2
- September 27: Wise Men Visited Jesus – Matthew 2
- October 4: Jesus at the Temple – Luke 2
Sunday School Talking Points
Each week, kids will take home their activity/coloring page and any crafts or activities they’ve made. But new this year, we wanted to create a tool to accompany the information on those sheets. And if you’re like me, at least one, if not all, of your kids lost their craft or sheet before they even get into the car.
We now have a talking point sheet (click the image) ; that is a tool that I hope will be useful for you and always accessible, whether or not your kids lost their activity sheet! At any time, you can come back to this newsletter to look up what your kid has been learning. The monthly newsletter will also be printed and available for you to pick up and take home (near the exit of the zone), with the talking points sheet attached. We hope that this is a helpful tool for you to connect with and engage with your kids about what they are learning in Sunday School.

You can also download the PDF (after clicking on the image) and go back to it at any time.
Volunteer Spotlight
At Corinth, we know that the heart of our Kid’s Ministry doesn’t beat because of the staff or any one person —it beats because of our incredible volunteers. While we coordinate behind the scenes, it is our volunteers who are on the ground every Sunday making this ministry such an impactful, loving, and life-changing place for our kids. Because we are so deeply grateful for their dedication (including many of you who serve in your child(ren)s classroom, we are starting a monthly Volunteer Spotlight! Each month, we want to celebrate one of our amazing team members, share their story, and say a big “thank you” for the unique ways they serve our church family.
Read more below about our first Volunteer Spotlight: Lisa Nagel!

As we step into this new ministry year, please know that our Kid’s Ministry Team has committed to praying over each child that is in our church from birth through 5th grade. I pray that your family feels loved, supported, and encouraged.
Thank you again for entrusting us with your kids. I am so honored and excited to walk alongside you and your family!
